Veterinary Assistants
A native of the area who attends the University of Rhode Island for Pre-Veterinary Studies, Laura is an assistant at BCVH. Previously, she attended the Community College of Rhode Island, where she received an Associate's Degree Liberal Arts. Presently. she is studying diagnostic procedures in veterinary medicine, as well as anesthesiology, surgery and emergency medicine.
Laura has a Golden Retriever, Dublin, a cat, Minnie--and two tree frogs, Mchaggis and Murphy. In her spare time, she enjoys riding horses.
Veterinary assistant at Bristol County since 2003, Shannon resides in Somerset , MA.
During her leisure time, Shannon enjoys snowboarding, playing volleyball, writing and spending time with her three cats Timber, Lyciebryce, and Halo and her dog, Rock.
Working as a part-time veterinary assistant since 2004, Carolyn, a Seekonk native, is able to combine her experience from BCVH with her full time responsibilities as a zoo keeper at Capron Park Zoo, giving her a unique skill set. Her dedication to the care of animals is apparent and makes her a welcome member of the veterinary staff.
With what is left of her spare time, Carolyn enjoys exercising, reading, and spending time with her family which includes her kids, her Whippet, Sonny, and several cats.
Since February 2006, Jessica has been a member of the BCVH team, working part-time as a veterinary assistant. Originally hailing from Rumford, Rhode Island, she is a graduate of East Providence High School. She explains that she enjoys her work at BCVH because the doctors and staff don't just diagnose and treat their patients, they use their skills to their ultimate efficiency to ensure each patient is happy and healthy."
When not at the hospital, Jessica cares for three cats of her own. All domestic shorthairs, their names are Jjay, Cookie, and Turtle. She also spends her free time landscaping, practicing photography, scrapbooking, running and playing soccer.
